Mark Driscoll: ‘Marriage and Men’

marshillteachingMark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, recently preached a fantastic message called “Marriage and Men”. It was the 10th message in the church’s series called “Trial”.

This message hit on gender roles, but more than that, it really targeted the core issues that most men struggle with. Mark takes the truth of the Bible and expounds on what a real man should look like.

I’m really glad he wasn’t shy to preach on this – especially in his context and the size of his church. It isn’t a popular perspective. This is a huge issue in the world today, and we’ve really messed up God’s design for masculinity and marriage. Take a few minutes and check it out…

An Italian Doctor Is Playing God?

It appears that an Italian doctor has cloned three babies. Or so he says. It has yet to be proven that his testimony is true.

baby1But this shows the audacity of the human race. In our fallen state, we have somehow landed in an era in which we think it is okay to play God. God alone gives life, and it is a shame that we have allowed ANY society to make even an attempt at His role as Life-Giver.

We’ve allowed our selfish ambitions to throw ethics out the window.

In Genesis, God gave man the opportunity to be “fruitful and multiply and fill the earth”, but I really don’t think He meant that cloning was the way to do this.

Nehemiah 9:6 tells us: You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.

God help us… We are a foolish generation.
